"Go Far" Beyond the
Mifflin St. Jeor Equation

The Energy Balance Initiative offers virtual workshops for professionals to improve and personalize energy balance assessments and recommendations for weight maintenance as a new frontier for successful, long-term weight management (kcal/day). New technology introducing integrated direct measurements of REE  by indirect calorimetry and comparisons with the predictive equations using a MSJE/IDC ratio (within 0.9 – 1.0 to assess errors) is featured.

These workshops cover practical methods, evidence-based recommendations, expert consensus based best practices and skills related to energy intake and expenditure. Attendees learn from experts as mentors to advance the field and improve client outcomes. Workshop attendees can earn up to 8.25 CPEUs approved by the Commission on Dietetic Registration.
